About Emma Moss

Hello and welcome to my art page. My name is Emma, I am a professional artist and designer.

When did you start doing art?

Growing up in a family surrounded by creative individuals has been a wonderful blessing. Both of my parents are artists and designers. I have many fond memories of watching my mum draw and paint from a very young age. You could say I got kissed by the creative bug from a young age and have been drawing since I was very little.

Through my childhood and teens, I worked extensively as an illustrator but also dabbled in some painting and mixed media work. Over the years, I branched out more and more into painting however I still enjoy illustration. I paint in acrylic, mixed media, and oils.

What types of art do you do?

I create a range of original, fine artworks and designs that include: animal and people portraits, still life, abstracts, landscapes, and figurative art. I am always exploring new and creative ways to express my ideas through my art practice.

Animal and People Portraiture

We are all on our own unique journey and have many stories to tell. What's your story? You can often tell a lot about an individual (animal or human) by looking closely at their portrait and particularly their eyes. One of my passions is trying to capture the person or animal’s unique qualities and experiences through my portraiture art.

I love animals and thoroughly enjoy the challenge of trying to capture the personality of the animal that I am drawing or painting. Nothing makes me happier to see someone else’s joy when they receive their portrait. It’s a wonderful journey.

People choose portraits for many reasons, to remember a special time in a person’s life, or to honour a loved one or pet that has passed. Over the years I have completed a number of animal and people portraits including memorial portraits.

Experience

I have worked as a freelance designer and artist for many years creating a number of designs and commissions for various clients including The Gov, Enhanced  Lifestyles, and former SA soul band Soul Funken Hot.
