Commissions

Commission Process for Custom Artwork

Below are the steps for the commission process for custom artwork:

  1. Choose Your Inspiration
Select a photograph or image that you’d like to have illustrated or painted. Ensure the image is of high quality to allow for detailed work.
  2. Select the Size
Decide on the size of the artwork you’d like. I offer various standard dimensions, and custom sizes are also available upon request.
  3. Discuss Your Vision
Share any specific requirements or preferences, such as colour schemes, background scenery, or additional details you’d like incorporated.
  4. Make a Deposit to Secure Your Order
Once we agree on the creative direction, size, and details, a 40% non-refundable deposit is required to secure your commission. This covers materials and initial work.
  5. Regular Updates
During the creation process, I will share progress photos with you. This ensures we’re aligned and allows for minor adjustments if needed.
  6. Timeline
Depending on size and complexity, custom pieces take 1–6 weeks to complete. I’ll keep you updated on the timeline throughout the process.
  7. Approval & Final Payment
Upon completion, I’ll send a photo of the finished piece for your approval. After approval, the remaining balance will be due. Once full payment is received, I’ll prepare your artwork for shipping.
  1. Drying Time

For oil paintings, an additional 4 – 6 weeks may be required for proper drying.

  1. Shipping Information:
    • Packing: Large artworks are carefully rolled and shipped in a sturdy tube. Smaller pieces are shipped flat, secured between layers of cardboard for protection.
    • Delivery: Your artwork will be shipped with tracking and will require a signature upon delivery.
